AIR GUN
It is the only Olympic air discipline that is held with a compressed air short weapon. First it consists of a Competition Phase and then an Olympic Final, where the eight best classified of the Competition Phase compete for first place. One shot is fired per target, this being 16 cm in diameter, divided into concentric scoring zones between 0 and 10 points. In the men’s category, the Competition Phase consists of 60 competition shots fired in 1h 45min. As for the female category, a total of 40 competition shots are made in 1h 15 min. The Olympic Final consists of 10 competition shots in both categories.
STANDARD AIR GUN
It is a discipline of Sports Shooting in which series of 5 shots are fired at the same target in 10 seconds each. The targets are like those used for the Air Pistol discipline. In the men’s category, 8 series are carried out, that is, 40 competition shots, and 6 series in the women’s category, which add up to a total of 30 shots.
SPEED AIR GUN
It is a non-Olympic discipline, it is carried out on five collapsible targets of 6 cm in diameter, which have a separation of 30 cm between centers. In the male category, 40 competition shots are fired in 8 series of 5 shots in 10 seconds, being 30 shots in the female category with the same conditions for each of the 6 series.
AIR RIFLE
Like the Air Pistol, this Olympic air discipline consists of a Competition Phase where the eight best athletes are selected who will later compete in the Olympic Final. On 5 cm diameter targets divided into concentric scoring zones between 0 and 10 points (ten is a point the size of the head of a pin), a single shot is fired. Sixty competition shots in 1h 15 min for the men’s category and forty competition shots in 50 min for the women. The Olympic final consists of 10 additional shots in both categories.
