This telescopic sight, the Umarex RS 3-9×56 FI, is expertly engineered for performance in low-light conditions (dusk or dawn), where maximizing light transmission is crucial.
The 3-9×56 specification denotes a versatile 3x to 9x variable magnification range paired with a generous 56 mm objective lens. This configuration is key to maximizing the exit pupil, ensuring an exceptionally bright and crisp sight picture. This capability is vital for effectively extending the legal shooting hours for hunting or precision target shooting in the field.
The optic features an illuminated reticle—the “FI” designation—of the No. 8 type (similar to a Duplex), offering 7 precise brightness levels in red. This illumination allows the shooter to fine-tune the intensity of the aiming point, preventing washout and ensuring optimal contrast against dark backgrounds, regardless of the ambient light.
The scope’s parallax is factory-set (fixed) at 25 meters. This specific adjustment point is optimized for the typical operating distances of high-power PCP (Pre-Charged Pneumatic) air rifles and rimfire applications. Furthermore, its robust construction ensures certified recoil resistance up to the .223 Remington caliber, making it a reliable choice even on airgun platforms with significant knockdown power.
It comes standard with a high, see-through mount compatible with an 11 mm prism rail (dovetail). This clever mounting design allows for the simultaneous use of the firearm’s iron sights, facilitating Quick Target Acquisition (QTA) at very close ranges without having to adjust or remove the mounted scope.
The Umarex RS 3-9×56 FI telescopic sight, a robust entry in the Umarex optics line, is specifically engineered to deliver exceptional performance in low-light conditions, making it an ideal choice for hunting and shooting during dawn or twilight hours.
This scope features a powerful combination of a versatile 3-9x magnification range and a large 56 mm objective lens. This generous lens size maximizes light transmission, ensuring a bright, clear sight picture even when visibility is poor.
Key Features for the Modern Shooter:
- Illuminated Reticle: The scope includes an illuminated reticle with 7 red brightness levels. This feature ensures the aiming point remains highly visible against dark backgrounds or in poor light, providing a decisive advantage in the field.
- Durable Build: Constructed with a standard 1-inch (25.4 mm) tube diameter, the RS 3-9×56 FI is rated for recoil resistance up to .223 Rem, confirming its suitability for use on powerful air rifles (PCPs) and various small-caliber firearms.
- Airgun Ready: The parallax is fixed at 25 meters, an adjustment point perfectly optimized for the typical distances encountered when shooting airguns and rimfire rifles.
- Practical Mounting Solution: The scope comes supplied with a high, see-through mount designed for 11 mm prism rails. This unique mounting system allows the shooter to use the firearm’s open sights at short distances for rapid target acquisition without removing the scope—a valuable feature for close-range versatility.
Weighing in at 687 grams and measuring 324 mm in length, the Umarex RS 3-9×56 FI is a high-value optic that combines essential low-light capabilities with practical, user-friendly features.
